stomping grounds. montavilla park.

this is the park where my brother and i spent many days of our summer.  we would gather with the other neighborhood kids for cold lunch, then hang out in the wading pool, or playing connect four.

stomping grounds. tetherball pole

this pole served as the meeting place of the comedy movie making club, later shortened to the movie making club, as well as the inception of the calvin and hobbes club.  both these clubs had two names on the roster, my own, and austin, who led me to the realization that i wanted to make movies with my life, and that it was an obtainable goal.

stomping grounds. the house i grew up in

moved here when i was six.  when my brother and i shared a room we had a black and white tv and watched cliffhanger.

when I was young there were some strange stores here.  i believe one was called dee’s and sold things like double x wolf shirts and trading cards.  my dad would sell books to them he bought at garage sales.  i would get pogs.

this is the way I would get to my friend austin’s house.  i had the hardest time navigating my bike through that thing.

stomping grounds. vestal elementary blacktop

this is the old blacktop behind my elementary school.  we used to run around on this map of the united states.  we made up games that only made sense once.  we didn’t have all that grass or a community garden, we had a sandbox the neighborhood cats pooped in.
